We could hardly wait to show the work of our final March artist spotlight with you! Presenting the work of local quilter extraordinaire, Libs Elliott! Quite possibly, the most tattooed quilter you’ll ever meet, her designs are generated via a programming language called Processing to randomly generate geometric designs, which she then translates into quilts! This digital collaboration has lasted over six years, and resulted in some incredibly intricate large-scale works...! In addition to quilting, Libs also designs fabric collections, publishes patterns and teaches workshops! She has exhibited her work internationally and made commissions for both corporate and private clients. Recently Libs moved into her first dedicated studio space in the east end, so she’s looking forward to having more room to grow and experiment with new ideas! You can also show you support for Libs by following her on Instagram @libselliott, or subscribing to her Patreon page: www.patreon.com/libselliott ! To read our full interview with Libs and learn more about her process, head to the March Spotlight web page on our site: https://bit.ly/3l3fimC See more

Hello East Enders! Today we’re spotlighting the exciting work of multi-talented artist Dainty Smith! Dainty is a Toronto-based Actor, Burlesque Performer, Playwright, Producer and curator! As a storyteller, the stories she is most invested in telling are narratives that center Black women and femmes of colour. With so many passions, Dainty has stayed busy this past year, and is always looking ahead! I am excited about Afrofuturism that allows for Black women and femmes t...o thrive without apology. To grow, heal and bloom and the work that I am creating is about creating work that is hopeful, resistant, sensual and daring, both in theatre and cabaret. Dainty is currently co-curating the PUSH.PULL festival with performance artist and educator, Golboo Amani. PUSH.PULL is a six-month online series of interdisciplinary events in performance art and QTBIPOC cabaret. Running until May 2021, all events are online and free, so be sure to check out the art and conversations! To further support her work, make sure you’re following @daintysmith on Instagram!
