I've had a couple of conversations with Sheri Somerville in recent weeks, and I know she is getting lots of feed-back from Chambers across the Atlantic region. The most requested item, consistently, is information about where business owners can look for assistance. In response, the Atlantic Chamber has put together what I view as one of the best sources of information about programs to assist businesses during this pandemic is the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce web site. ...You will find an abundance of current, up-to-date information on this site. Here is a link to that site: https://www.atlanticchamber.ca/covid-19-resources

Per CTV news, our Prime Minister is announcing changes to the wage subsidy: "Previously the government said that businesses would have to show a 30 per cent drop in revenues compared to this time last year, which some start-ups and new businesses would not be able to do, so companies can now compare their lost revenue to what they made in January and February of 2020, and will only need to show a 15 per cent decline in March." Also, changes coming to the Canada Summer Jobs program: "The government has also announced temporary changes to the Canada Summer Jobs program. Now, employers who hire summer students can apply for a subsidy of up to 100 per cent to cover the cost, helping create up to 70,000 jobs for Canadians between the ages of 15 and 30."
