It is with absolute pleasure that we share the following announcement! Welcome to the senior executive management team Jane!
Here is just one of the precious moments from the invitation that we sent earlier this week. The students collectively recognized their principal for her work and as you can see, she was moved by the gesture. In addition, the staff sent along the attached message to share in appreciation of Ms. McNally. We hope that all the principals and center coordinators had many moments of recognition this week! We appreciate all the work that you do and are thankful for each and every one of you! https://fb.watch/1iV4ZKab3A/
School administrators: Essential, influential and committed. We would like to extend an INVITATION to parents, staff and students to take a moment and recognize a principal or center administrator throughout the week. The administration of the schools and centers have been working especially hard in recent months to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff and students. They have been asked to adapt to unprecedented realities while creating an environment conducive to ...learning and perseverance. They work alongside of the teachers, parents and students to promote success for all. They are the unsung heroes and deserve, now more than ever, a little recognition. So, we would like to encourage you to take a moment and let a principal or center administrator know how much you appreciate their efforts. Sometimes a little appreciation can go a LONG way.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a fun and supportive way for students to explore their full potential. They choose the activities that most interest them and track their progress. In the process they learn new skills, gain confidence, give back to their community, meet students from other schools within the ESSB territory, as well as challenge themselves within a safe and proven framework. Starting at age 14, youth can register for the award at their school. Each secondary sch...ool has an award leader on staff who is trained to help them sign up, choose their activities and goals, and support them in achieving the award. ESSB pays the registration fee and promotes the award through the Spiritual Animation service with Ann Kelly as regional coordinator. The highlight of the award is the adventurous journey component in which students from across the board come together to hike, bike, kayak, snowshoe, or canoe, overcoming fears, pushing their limits, all the while making lasting friendships and fond memories. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an international program which is highly recognized by post-secondary schools, employers and funders. For more information you can contact the award leader in each school, reach out to Ann Kelly at [email protected] or browse the website: dukeofed.org.
Oceane Beaudin who graduated from Evergreen High School in 2020, recently completed her Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. Ocean is the fifth Eastern Shores School Board graduate to achieve an award this year. Oceane accomplished 26 weeks of activity including an adventurous snowshoe journey in Parc de la Gaspesie. Oceane is continuing her studies at Champlain College. We wish her all the best.
