Do you or someone you know need a ride to your COVID-19 vaccination? Thanks to funding from Nova Scotia's Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage, we are offering $5 trips to anyone that needs to get to their appointment. To book your ride, please give us a call at 902-883-4716. We require at least 24 hours notice. We recommend booking as soon as you have your appointment so we can fit you into pre-scheduled rides. Accessible vehicles are available and you can bring... an attendant free of charge. Stay safe and have a great week!

Our April 2021 newsletter is out! You can read it here: http://www.easthantslearning.com/newsletter/april-2021/ Whether you use our service to get to a vaccine site, access essentials like groceries or the pharmacy, or simply to re-connect with family, we're there to help. We've added several new programs to make transportation affordable.

While our Senior Transportation Program has received one month of additional funding, we have gained access to another fund to support affordable transportation. The Fare Assistance Program is open to anyone who is low income or faces financial barriers to access transportation. Rates for this program are between $5 and $10, depending on your region. For a complete regional breakdown, please visit our website: http://www.easthantslearning.com/fare-assistance-program/ Please spread the word about this program. We want everyone that struggles financially in our area to be able to access transportation. For more information, please call us at 902-883-4716 or e-mail [email protected].

Having access to transit options in rural communities is crucial, particularly for individuals who do not have access to a vehicle. I am really proud that our g...overnment today announced $250M for the first-ever dedicated rural transit fund. The fund will be focused on supporting existing transit options while working with communities that currently do not have any programs in place. We are fortunate to have many great organizations in Kings-Hants that focus on getting people where they need to go, and my hope is that this fund can be a mechanism to help support them and others across the country. This was a priority for rural caucus and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues Maryam Monsef and Catherine McKenna on the program rollout. https://www.canada.ca//government-of-canada-announces-firs *photos pre-Covid
