This Mother’s Day is going to be a bit different. It’ll be a year of new traditions, of less togetherness than we’re all used to. I’ll be spending the day with my family and doing my part to give the mother that keeps so much going while I’m running the restaurant a much-deserved break. Usually, I’d spend it with the other mothers in my life too; my own, who so many call Mom, my mother-in law, and my adopted mom, who has welcomed me into her family for so many years, but th...is year, my presence will be felt through drop-offs of food and flowers, and waves from the sidewalk instead of the embraces they all deserve. A few days ago, my five-year-old decided the Easter Bunny wasn’t real. It’s one of those things that you know is coming as a parent, but this year, with so much else out of whack, I decided I’d do what I could to keep his imagination alive for one more year, and put an Indian twist on it.
