East Side Players 01.10.2020

To all patrons, members and volunteers past and present, We wish you and your family good health during this most unprecedented of times. As all other theatre companies have done, we too have cancelled the remaining show of our 2019-2020 season Shakespeare in Love. We would like to thank the cast and crew for their dedication and commitment as well as their willingness to persevere despite these very trying circumstances. As we at East Side Players shift our focus to what i...s a very uncertain future, we are not confident we will be able to weather this storm. The cancellation of our season is a big financial burden for us. Without the revenue from our final show and our spring subscription drive, we will not be able to cover our annual expenses. We find ourselves in a position we never hoped to be in, having to make a decision we never hoped we’d have to make. It is therefore with great sadness and a heavy heart that we must also announce that we have decided to close East Side Players at the end of our current season. We do not make this decision lightly but feel it is the most fiscally responsible one given our current circumstances. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every patron, member, volunteer, and lover of live theatre for your continued support over the years. We would not have been as successful as we were without you! We will not forget that for over 50 years, East Side Players has provided engaging and affordable entertainment as well as opportunities for community members to participate and get involved in the making of live theatre magic. Very sincerely, East Side Players Board Members

The cast of Shakespeare in Love are practicing social distancing rather than rehearsing. However, they are actively staying in touch online. Please stay safe and positive. We hope to see you back at the theatre soon!
