It’s big, it’s colorful, it’s the largest pysanka egg (a Ukrainian-style Easter egg) in the world! Fun fact: More than a sculpture, the egg is actually a giant ...jigsaw puzzle, constructed using over 3500 pieces of aluminum, taking over 12,000 hours to complete. On REMEMBRANCE DAY - Did you know? ELLENWOOD DRIVE in Eastview Estates is named after Corporal Robert Ellenwood. His family moved to Red Deer in 1903 when he was a year old. He enlisted in the army at the beginning of the Second World War and was awarded a medal of bravery for his service in Italy. Corporal Ellenwood was killed in Belgium in September 1944 during the liberation of the Netherlands. He is buried in the Adegem Canadian war cemetery in Belgium.
