As a Massage Therapist we are conditioned to hate and be disgusted by ‘massage parlours’ The jokes about ‘happy endings’, the inappropriate behaviour in our treatment rooms, and acts of sexual violence in a therapeutic space are all too common. These jokes and comments by the public not only creates a hostile space for RMT’s but also creates judgement and harm to the sex workers. ... This has to stop. And it starts with the jokes, the parodies, the comments, the judgement, and the hate - these are all acts of white supremacy. Did you know massage parlours in Toronto weren’t allowed to lock their doors before September 2020? This put their safety and lives at risk every single day. We believe every person deserves safety at work. We believe massage parlours have the right to exist. We believe sex work is work. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? I’m totally guilty of the wake up, roll over, and check my phone. Sound familiar? Here are 3 boundaries around my phone I’ve been working on and they’re a total game changer! ... Leave the phone out of the bedroom at night. My sleeps are deeper and I wake up feeling more rested when I remember this one! Set ‘phone hours’ much like office hours. For me, it’s 6am-6pm. I don’t always stick to it but being mindful around phone hours creates more freedom in my evenings. Take breaks. Feeling overwhelmed or anxious? Try putting the phone away for 30 minutes and rest, move your body, or focus on something else. Do you set boundaries around your phone? Let us know in the comments below!

This is me. 1 year ago today. Just a few steps in, I knew this was the place. I knew this was going to be our home. ... I knew this was the beginning of the best year of my life (LOL!) This year has been the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Moments of grief followed by moments of gratitude. Moments of guilt followed by moments of joy.
