Hi Everyone! So excited to be joining the #CrookedStyleChallenge with Shinah @crookedcalligraphy. . One of the ways we can nourish ourselves other than food is to do something we enjoy, try something new or re-connect with something we lost touch with. ... . Calligraphy is one of those things I love to do. I find it to be a calming practice - it’s almost like you’ve created a piece of art by the time you’re done. . I’ve always really done it on my own and never really joined a group like this so I’m looking forward to check it out. . What is a hobby or activity that you love to do that is nourishing for you?

As wearing masks may be here awhile longer, this little tool is fast becoming a favourite for me so I thought I would share in case it’s helpful for anyone. Benefits: Placing it under a mask lifts the material away from your face so it’s easier to breathe... If you have sensitive or allergic skin to the material or treatments on medical or cloth masks, this provides less contact on your skin without compromising coverage. For glasses wearers, I’ve found that it tends to cut down on fogging too! Also, if you so choose, you can wear a bit makeup underneath without any fuss or mess. I’m sure there are different versions out there. This one was from a Showcase store maybe you’ve seen something similar. If you experience difficulty breathing, skin irritation, or having your glasses get foggy with mask wearing, this could be something you could try and see if it's helpful for you too.

Washing our hands with soap and water frequently is still the best option when it comes to staying safe. When that’s not available when we’re out, hand sanitizers have been the next best option. The challenge is there are so many different products out there it’s hard to know which ones to choose. . As of Sept 28th, 2020 , Health Canada has recalled 70+ hand sanitizers and the list continues to grow. These products often contain different types of ethanol alcohol and other su...bstances that are not authorized to be used in those types of products here in Canada. The good news is there’s a resource to check if the one you’re currently using is on that list. . The repeated use of strong hand sanitizers throughout the day can lead to rashes or dry and cracked areas on our skin with everyone, but particularly if you have sensitive skin. Worse yet if you have any red or inflamed rashes or patches of skin with sores, open cuts or wounds. (We all know how that can burn!) Not to mention the possible exposure to unknown toxic chemicals when you see fragrance on the ingredient list! . One of the products that I have found to help keep my skin healthy and moisturized is Renu 28 gel by ASEA. I keep it with me when I’m out and about. If I’m required to use a store’s hand sanitizer product by the door, I immediately follow that with Renu. . What I love about it: With only 4 simple ingredients, Renu 28 is non-toxic and has anti-bacterial and anti-microbial qualities. A Dermatest study showed that Renu 28 provided an 11% increase in hydration after 28 days! The best part of this product is that it also helps to boost both the efficiency and function of the cells in my skin. . If you want to learn more about it or how you can try it out for yourself, reach out and let me know!

Have you ever had a day or string of days when you didn’t feel motivated to take action and you started to question why you weren’t motivated or maybe if you even had the motivation to complete an outstanding task or to work towards your goal? For me, navigating this time of lockdowns, social tensions and being faced with the uncertainty of an unknown ‘new normal’ has certainly led to days like this. . This brought to mind ‘what you focus on expands’. Stacey reminded us all ...that we do have motivation to put our energy towards thoughts or activities that don’t necessarily get us closer to our goal (like over-indulging in sweets) so we can’t actually say that we don’t have enough motivation to do ‘x’ or to complete ‘y’. Her point? She said to us that we do have motivation but it’s up to us to point it in the right direction. . Focusing on being of service means to me to be pointing our motivation into activities that keep us in action, engages our creativity and fills up our heart. In that space, it’ll be far less likely to descend into negative self-talk and in-activity. . What also came to mind is that we have the power to make a difference in how we experience our day by managing where we point our motivation. . Some of the most energizing and motivating times for me during these last few months has been when coaching and working with others being of service. I've found that when I intentionally look for the good in every situation with an attitude of gratitude, there is always something to find and that alone can boost my mood for the moment or for the day. So that is where I’m pointing my motivation. We still have 100% of 2020 left to make a change, start something new or finish the year strong. Where do you want to point your motivation? . #motivation, #consciouschoices, #consciousliving, #presentmomentawareness, #focus, #service, #Beingofservice, #attitudeofgratitude, #lookforthegood. #consistencyiskey, #empowersummit, #eatingpsychologycoaching
