There are certain advantages of membership and this is one of them. The ECAA has partnered with DAD Sales and Flo and is pleased to announce that we will be applying for the federal government's Clean Fuels’ ZERO Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program to deploy a network of zero-emission vehicle charging stations across Alberta. ECAA Members can receive funding up to $100,000 per project to support the installation of electric vehicle charging stations. Deadline to submit le...tters of intent to ECAA is November 30. ECAA held an informative and well attended seminar this morning on electric vehicles (EV), EV charging stations and how members can get involved with a federal government program that will contribute to new public charging stations getting built. Larry Cantelo, PEC gave an informative presentation on electric vehicles and charging stations and then Rory Gattens from Flo talked about how members can get involved with the federal government program. A few days ago, we had a post regarding a new program from the federal government that will provide funding for electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations. We now have an online seminar planned for early next week about electric vehicles and EV charging. This will include an overview of the three EV configurations and EV charging options. Additionally, the electrical code rules regarding installation of electric vehicle supply equipment will be discussed. We will also have pe...ople on hand who can give you information on how to apply for the program. Grant Ainsley was the last speaker before lunch and his presentation was about social media and using it to build your brand and make money. He talked about how social media influencers are being used and pointed to this Instagram post from Justin Bieber for Crocs that hiked Crocs shares by 13% yesterday.

At today’s virtual Edmonton Chapter Meeting, Terry Milot reported on Prompt Payment issue and had some good news. He said the provincial government is now writing regulations and Service Alberta Minister Nate Glubish wants prompt payment legislation to be adopted quickly. It’s expected to go ahead during the fall session of the Legislature. He also reported on some technical and legal issues that are still being worked on. ... Terry was thanked for his hard work on the issue by Edmonton Chapter President Jason Kuziw.

It's been a long seven months since the last time ECAA members got together for an in-person chapter meeting, but a successful meeting was held last night in Grande Prairie. A large ballroom was used, allowing members to spread out. Jason Bradshaw, PEC is the new North West Chapter President. He's with Alpha Omega Electric.... This year will be different though and local chapters have decided to do a combination of in-person and virtual meetings.
