Cheers to @olddogbrewing for creating links in our food chain. We are now able to pick up the spent grain from The brewery to feed to our pigs and laying hens. ...This is one of those magical moment where we get to take a waste product and give it one more go in the food chain. Pigs love it and we are excited to create one more link in both our food web and community connections. #threeforksfarmbobcaygeon #farmingtakesacommunity #olddogbrewing #spentgrain See more

Thank you to Bobcaygeon Home Hardware Bobcaygeon Home Hardware for sharing your pandemic story! #ShopKawarthaLakes Here we go again: we are in the middle of another lock down and it’s a crazy time at the store! We’re back to serving our customers with curbside pickup. Unfortunately, due to new regulations customers can’t place orders at the door. This has created a challenge for our customers and staff alike as people can no longer bring in specific plumbing or electrical pa...rts in need of replacement to show us what they’re looking for. Our team has done an outstanding job adapting and are happy to work with customers as they phone ahead or send an e-mail to place their orders. We accept payment over the phone or in person by debit or credit at a table out front of our store to make pick up as safe and easy as possible. We’ve noticed a shift in demand as more people are now working on their homes and completing diy and renovation projects. While people aren’t browsing for retail therapy the same way they used to, we’ve noticed our paint orders picking up! Since it’s harder to connect in person these days we have made an effort to boost our social media presence to keep everyone informed and we can be found on both Instagram and Facebook. We are also excited to share that we have recently launched a newsletter that we are really proud of. We’ve received lots of great feedback on the newsletter as people love to see photos of our staff and learn what’s happening. As a bonus all our newsletter readers are eligible every month for a $100 gift card draw! In our next newsletter look for an online survey that will help us stock what you will be looking for in Spring and Summer. You can sign up for the newsletter by e-mailing [email protected] We are grateful to have been able to avoid lay offs and can’t wait to welcome customers back in the store! Thank you to all of our customers for your patience and understanding as we’ve worked to make our operations as efficient as possible and for your continued support. When you buy goods and services from locally owned or franchised businesses, more money stays and circulates in the community. Local supply chains are strengthened because small businesses usually source materials and services from other local businesses, service providers and farms. Having a strong local business community also helps grow the local tax base. www.shopkawarthalakes.ca
