Children are soon off to school. Maybe time to get out that sewing machine or knitting needles. Check out the fabric & yarn. Also, we have a great selection on throws, curtains & bedding!!
Check out the 2 for 1 bargains on all summer apparel!
Please note: We are not presently accepting stuffed toys. Please pass them onto neighbours/friends instead. Thank you for your consideration in this matter!
The store hours will now be 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. If you have donations, please continue to bring them to our bins or side door during those times. Thank you everyone for continuing to follow the store protocols regarding hand sanitization on entry and maintaining social distancing in the store! Lets continue to keep everyone healthy! * As a side note - if you purchased a body gym from us (possibly in February), it was missing a part. If you message us we can put you in touch with the person who donated it to get this to you!
We are adjusting our hours starting today - we will now be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. for your shopping convenience! Thank you everyone for following the store protocols and helping to keep everyone healthy!
Thank you to our returning customers who stopped by yesterday for helping us by following our hand sanitization and social distancing requirements! We had a wonderfully busy day and appreciated all the positive feedback we received - we were happy to see you all! Our business hours will still be 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next while. We will reassess in the future and post any changes here. Please note our No Parking signs as we need to leave ro...om for customers to safely exit into the alley and walk around the recycling bin to get back to their vehicles. If you have donations you have been holding, please bring them Monday, Wednesday or Fridays during business hours if you can. (Theft from our bins is still a big problem for us). Please put them in the bins outside (we will get them later in the day), or come through the back alley to our side entrance door and we can take them there. If you knock at the side entrance and we dont answer, leave them by the door as we may be busy in the store but are checking that entrance regularly throughout the day. We will have someone working on Sundays for the next while to bring in donations as well - so if you can get them there Sunday mornings we can take them inside when we are there. Thank you everyone for your consideration and assistance in helping to keep our store safe and healthy! See you soon!
The Thrift Store will be re-opening on Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. Our hours will be reduced to 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. for the first little while so that we can ensure our procedures are working and able to be followed. We will continue to be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays following that date and will resume normal hours in the near future. We will once again gratefully accept donations - thank you to all who have been holding them until now. We appreciate your patience.... We are asking that donations be placed in the bins outside (even when we are open) OR brought to the back entry door on the side alley during open business hours. Please note that there will be no vehicle through traffic on the side alley as we need to keep our customers safe when exiting the kitchen door into the alley. The back entry/donation door on the side alley can be accessed through the back alley and not the parking lot. Some IMPORTANT things to consider prior to visiting the store: a) Maximum store capacity is 10 customers (plus staff/volunteers) b) The washroom/change room will NOT be available to customers at this time c) We are encouraging one per family shopping, and are discouraging children at this time d) We will have a mandatory hand sanitization immediately upon entering the store (we will provide) e) We will be practicing social distancing in the store f) There will be areas of the store marked to follow the direction of the arrows while shopping to ensure social distancing can be maintained in those areas g) If you bring your own bags, we ask that you bag your own purchases. (The bags we have are held/sanitized to ensure they are safe for use) h) We will have separate entry and exit locations in the store i) If you are sick or have a cough/flu symptoms, please stay home j) We encourage you to wear a mask if you have one k) Practice the one touch and take method - avoid overhandling items where you can l) Wash your hands with soap and water or sanitize after leaving the store Our toy section that was available for use by children is closed, although there will be some toys for sale. For added contactless convenience, the Thrift Store will now take DEBIT in addition to cash. We will sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly during open hours and prior to daily opening. We will ensure that products and clothing for sale have been cleaned/sanitized or held to ensure they are safe for purchase. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Please be respectful of our requirements while in the store - These measures are put in place not only for our safety but yours. We will ask those who do not wish to comply with our protocols to leave the store. We are happy to be opening and grateful for the community support - we will get through this together! Be kind to each other.
Sandra....Ive had a lot of people asking of ECHO is accepting donations once again. What can I tell them??
According to the government relaunch of retail services effective today, we are working to have the Thrift Store ready to open soon. Some supplies are on their way to ensure that staff, volunteers and customers can continue to stay safe while working and shopping in the store. We are hopeful they will arrive within the week! Some important things to consider before returning to the store: a) We will have a mandatory hand sanitization immediately upon entering the store (w...e will provide) b) We will be practicing social distancing in the store c) There will be areas of the store marked to follow the direction of the arrows while shopping d) If you bring your own bags, we ask that you bag your own purchases. e) We will have separate entry and exit locations in the store f) If you are sick or have a cough/flu symptoms, please stay home Our toy section that was available for use by children is closed, although there will be some toys for sale. For added contactless convenience, the Thrift Store will now take DEBIT in addition to cash. We thank you all for your patience and consideration as we continue to work our way through this pandemic in a safe and thoughtful manner. If you have any questions, please feel free to message us. Stay tuned for more updates to come soon!
As we continue to work our way through the COVID-19 pandemic we are finding the store is becoming very full of donations and we are running out of space. In light of this, we are asking those who are able to hang onto their donations until we are able to open again to please do so. We will continue to accept donations in our bins but are hoping to keep them at a minimum to allow us to have some room in the store for storage. We appreciate the continued community support and look forward to seeing everyone once we get through this crisis. Stay healthy everyone!
In following the new government protocol regarding the closure of non-essential services, the thrift store will remain closed until further notice. As noted previously, we are still accepting donations in our bins and are emptying them regularly. Thank you all for your support and patience during this time. We miss our customers but hope everyone is staying home as much as they can, practicing social distancing when they need to go out, washing their hands often and staying healthy! Take care everybody we will get through this together!
The thrift store will remain closed until April 6 as we continue to support efforts to reduce risks regarding the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor and follow any government recommendations as they unfold. As noted previously, we are still accepting donations in our bins and are emptying them regularly. Thank you all for your support and patience during this time. We miss our customers but hope everyone is practicing social distancing, washing their hands often and staying healthy!
In following with the government declared state of emergency, we will be closing the store today until March 30th in order to keep our staff and customers healthy. We will re-assess in the coming week as things unfold. We will be emptying our bins regularly, so will still gladly take your donations if you are out and about. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and stay healthy everyone.
