We are looking for Community Support Workers in Surrey, Delta and Ladner! We are looking for Community Support Workers that will help people with daily life skills like personal care and other aspects of daily living, access to community leisure programs, housekeeping duties, planning and preparing meals, booking medical appointments and organizing and supporting a client to follow through with a weekly schedule.... The Community Support Worker supports individuals with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders, in the program site, workplace, community and other designated settings. Community Support Worker are responsible for any or all of the following duties: To develop a supportive rapport with clients served and provide encouragement for each client with their personal goals. To stay knowledgeable and up to date on each client’s current goals and objectives. To follow and participate in the development of individualized client programs.The programs are designed to support clients in many areas including daily schedule, behaviour, communication, community, social skills, vocational skills, recreation, personal care, nutrition, sexuality, domestics, life skills, etc. To teach functional skills in daily living. To provide personal hygiene support for clients as required. To carry out all key worker duties including tabulating data and preparing written quarterly and annual plans for assigned key clients. To perform program site cleaning duties including, but not limited to, bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, kitchen, laundry, etc. as outlined in the schedules and expectations for employees specific to the work site. To store and dispense medication in accordance with the company's medication policy. To drive clients to necessary community locations using provided transportation. To confidently support clients in the development of a professional resume and cover letter in order to seek out meaningful employment To be responsible to ensure that professional conduct is in compliance with both provincial and federal legislation related to privacy and protection of personal information.
