Our staff at SHDHS are wearing disposable medical masks as one, of many, measures in place to keep our school community safe. However, we continue to be concerned and aware of our environmental impact during this time. Wearing a disposable medical mask isn’t an option for our staff but what we do with them afterwards is! We are so happy that our Cosmetology class and Mrs. Eckstein made us aware of the Green Circle Salons PPE recycling initiative. While no solution to w...aste is perfect, we are always looking for ways to do BETTER. Four PPE recycling boxes around our building for both staff and students. Every little bit counts. #iAmAMDSB Avon Maitland District School Board Random Acts of Green #singleuseplastics Green Circle Salons

Which environmental problems SCARE you? Is it ... - Climate change - Food waste - Water scarcity... - Plastics in the ocean - Deforestation or - Species Extinction? For us, it’s all of the above. That’s why we’re participating in Random Acts of Green's #HallowGreen Challenge this October. We will be taking action by completing as many Green Acts as possible + raising awareness about unique and realistic things we can do that make an impact. Are you up for the challenge? 2020 is a spooky year for the planet. We know the worst impacts of climate change could be irreversible by 2030. We know more than 1 million species are at risk of extinction due to human activity. We know climate change disproportionately affects visible minorities. ... And we know many leaders still aren't taking climate action seriously. Eco Exeter takes climate action seriously and that’s why we’re taking the HallowGreen Challenge this October. Please consider participating in the 5th Annual Random Acts of Green: HallowGreen Challenge this October. We, along with 50+ environmental organization and influencers, are in. Are you? We know not acting is a GRAVE mistake. Let’s do our part. Stay tuned. #AMDSBisGreen #iAmAMDSB Random Acts of Green Blue Bayfield Green Goderich
