Good afternoon, Wildcat Families, This is a reminder to families that purchased coupons from our Wildcat Pizza Delight fundraiser in December that the coupons do expire. You may have noticed an expiry date of March 15th. Coupons will, however, continue to be honored for the next little while, so please be sure to use them.

EPESCS students enjoyed some fresh air and outdoor learning last Friday with our screen free afternoon!
It is very spooky around the Halloween playground today. Kindergarten students made scarecrows into a fun but scary walk.
Grade 4E, Ms. Szabo's class: Lane and the Mad Scientist taking a quick break for a selfie. Andy, Janey, and Luka using their muscles to hold the sound wave machine. Behind the scenes, Ella uses her hand to transfer energy to start the machine. The grade 4s had a lot of fun with this experiment! It gave a visual representation of sound waves.
REMINDER: Halloween For Hunger Hey Wildcats, Friday October 30th, EPESCS will be collecting for a food drive called Halloween for Hunger. The food bank is currently in need of all donations so every item counts! Sadly, according to the Foodbanks Canada website, each month, over 850,000 people turn to food banks for help; of these, more than one-third are children/youth. Any and all donations of non-perishable food items and/or personal hygiene products are greatly appreciat...ed! PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK PACKAGE DATES CAREFULLY, AS EXPIRED FOOD IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE FOOD BANK AND WILL HAVE TO BE THROWN OUT. Please donate whatever you can! Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we cannot have food items brought into the school. We will be collecting non-perishable food items on Friday, October 30 only. Students will be able to drop off food items outside their entrance doors. Students that come on a bus will be able to drop their donations at the front doors before entering. All food items will be donated to our local food bank. Thank you, ~ École Port Elgin Saugeen Central Staff ~ See more

Mrs. Gibbon's Grade 3 class: What questions do you have about this picture? What is it showing you? This was how we started our discussion about equivalent fractions - something that was new for us! The second picture is where we described what one of the white pieces would represent. Cuisenaire rods were new to them so they were excited to play and build with them as well!
Please complete the technology needs survey through the link below by Friday, October 30. This information will allow staff to respond quickly in the event of a partial or full school closure due to COVID-19. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
Christmas is right around the corner and what would be better than a Wildcat t-shirt. See the poster below for more information.
Sorry for the short notice on this one:

HALLOWE’EN 2020 October 23, 2020 Dear Wildcat Families, As everyone is aware, autumn 2020 has been unlike any other previous autumn. In light of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that parents not send their children in costumes this year. Instead Saugeen Central will hold an Orange and Black Spirit Day on October 30. Although parents cannot send in treats for their child’s class this year, you can pack some extra treats for your child in their lunch. Reminder that we ...are a nut free school. Teachers will have fun events planned for their classes. If students would like to share photos of themselves in their costumes for Hallowe’en, they can send them to their teacher, who can share them with the class. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing cooperation and support through these unchartered times. By continuing to work together, we can keep our students and staff healthy and strong as we persevere through this fall together. See more
