At the Annual General Meeting of Members held last month, Opera.ca posted its third consecutive surplus of $5,391 as it heads into its 20th Anniversary Season. ... Members also elected a new Board Chair for the Association, Michael Hidetoshi Mori, General Director of Tapestry Opera. Michael is an award-winning stage director and founder of Indie OperaTO. He has served on the board of Opera.ca since 2014 most recently as Vice-Chair. For more about Michael: http://www.opera.ca/a/board-of-directors/michael-mori-chair. As this semester draws to an end, it is with the greatest of pride and joy that we present our final concert series of the Elizabeth Cushnie Voice studio. This concludes ten years of amazing singing and tremendous talent that has mostly gone into professional studies of music and the arts. We invite you the general public as well as all alumni to join us for three spectacular nights of singing. June 16th Music Theatre Night, June 17th Classical night, held at our traditiona...l location of Trinity United Church in Port Coquitlam. Our series concludes with Pop night located at 65 Foxwood drive in Port Moody. This is a free concert of professional level music. Come sing with us and say farewell to a decade of incredible singing and friendship

Singers Christopher Purves, Christina Gansch - Soprano and John Chest, Baritone join director Stefan Herheim to tell us more about Pellas et Mlisande - Debussys darkly romantic tale.

Season end concerts open to the public will be held at Trinity United Church in Port Coquitlam over two evenings June 28 & 29th. The concerts are free to attend and suitable for families with children and all to attend. Doors open at 6pm. Both evenings will showcase entirely different music and is a presentation of the work accomplished but students from September until June. Four students were nominated to compete at the Provincial level this year and six are off to post secondary this fall. We look forward to seeing you there. A great way to check out local talent!

This years Frazer Valley Festival was a huge success for us out of six competitors from our studio four of them we nominated to represent at the Provincial competition this year. Both National Classical and Music Theatre, intermediate Classical and intermediate music theatre alternate!
