I had a client exclaim with joy, "I can't believe you haven't told me which foods I shouldn't eat!!!" That's not how I roll and there are a few reasons why: 1 You're an adult and you can eat whatever you damn, please! 2 At some point, life is going to be rough and you'll be frustrated. You'll think of me and my food rules then think "f*ck that dietitian", eat it anyway and maybe even more out of spite!... 3 I'm not going to over-complicate nutrition for you any more than our culture already has. There are so many ways to eat beautiful and satisfying food without any B.S. I love to focus on all foods that anyone can enjoy regularly and in moderation. 4 I'm not the food police You deserve a Nutritionist who will gush over the best-fried chicken spots with you. Which foods do you want to find peace with or eat in moderation? Let's talk! See more

. . . . . Carbs are not solely to blame for:... food addiction inflammation chronic diseases like diabetes weight gain It is more nuanced than that! How you think about carbs matters! The more you call carbs "bad" or create rules around carbs, the more you crave carbs Not all carbs are created equal. There is a huge difference between the carbs found in pop compared to the carbs found in milk. Carbs from whole foods & are higher fibre are super healthy!! What you put on the carbs or how you cook the carbs matter. There is also a wild difference between fries from Mickey D's & homemade oven-roasted potato wedges. Portions & balance matter too! There is also a difference between a lasagna loaded with veggies + lean meats and lasagna used a vehicle for cheese Consistency matters: if you eat pizza once a month then goes for the cheese & high fats (AND ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT) but if you eat pizza as the main part of your diet then maybe you need to focus on balance a little more. All foods fit! Let's move away from food shame and guilt to less stress & more enjoyment! See more

! This is a legit question I get asked quite often though...while some people are genuinely curious but most of the time, this question comes from folks who aren't eating veggies regularly in the first place! " ". It getting too hung up on the details and missing the big picture.... : - Any vegetable eaten is better than waiting to find the "healthiest" one - The vegetable you is the best place to start! - Veggies ate than eating none at all! ' ' You might want to look at your relationship with food if: food is constantly on your mind you don't trust yourself around food... you use food as your main coping mechanism you don't even know what to eat anymore because the internet & Karen at work are full of contradicting statements you have a list of forbidden foods & you feel guilty eating them you have all or nothing tendencies such as delaying working on your nutrition goals because of a vacation or busy season (like Christmas) Everyone's journey is a little different but in general, this is the path that my most successful clients follow: ) . For example, if you don't know what your triggers are for binge eating then this is the best place to start ) . This may include nutrition, self-care, mindset, sleep, and stress management. All of which will impact your relationship with food. ) . This is the scary part! It might include letting go of the food rules, adding the "forbidden" foods back into your diet, learning to cope with feelings without food, and body respect or neutrality. ) . Life is full of ups & downs. At some point, you will need to fall back on your support system or strategies to tune into your needs (physical, mental, spiritual) and meet them! Seem like a lot to do on your own? It doesn't have to be! DM me the word to learn more about my 4 step program! See more
