Spiders are typically a love or hate kind of critter. This picture makes me feel like I should be getting ready for the daddy long legs invasion... love these spiders, and it was pretty cool to see the four of them together like this... #greatoutdoormoment #spidersofinstagram #edgewoodoutdoors

Woke up to this guy tapping on our window. Thankfully he hung around long enough to get a short video. I only wish I didn’t have the screen on the window, which makes the video look a little grainy. Pileated woodpeckers have to be one of the coolest birds we have here in Ontario in my opinion, and getting this close to one definitely made my day. Hope it makes yours too... #pileatedwoodpecker #birdsofinstagram #parrysound #ontariowildlife #edgewoodoutdoors

Life really is about taking time to enjoy the simple things. I can’t count the number of times I’ve admired the buzzing around of dragon flies while canoeing, or doing some other outdoor activity. The scene can often be memorizing. I recently took the chance to really close take a look at a few of these little guys, and got a whole new appreciation for how detailed there patterns can be. Here’s an example of one I was able to get a fairly decent photo of. I hope you get the same sense of appreciation for the natural world we live in as I did when looking at this little guy. It also served as a reminder to slow down from time to time and appreciate the little things in life... #dragonfly #thelittlethingsinlife #appreciatingnature #edgewoodoutdoors

Another Image I was able to get of a Snowy Owl during my trip to the Canadian Raptor Canservancy last week. It was a sunny day so it was a challenge getting a good photo of this guy without over saturating the image, but I’m so glad I didn’t stay home or I wouldn’t have had the experience of having this amazing bird of prey soaring toward me. I have to say, if you get the chance to do a similar trip in your area don’t hesitate to take advantage of the opportunity. A special thanks to @benebyinc for hosting the outing.
