Are you into setting some New Year's goals? After the holidays we always feel a renewed desire to amp up our home organizing and cleaning game. Here's a few small projects we'd like to accomplish. 1. Pull everything out of the fridge & freezer, check dates and try to use up any items that are coming close to expiring. It feels really great to run down food supplies and start fresh. 2. A toy edit. Broken, unloved, wrong age group, you're out of he...re. This was actually supposed to be a pre-holiday task, but, you know, life. . 3. Pajama drawer update. Only the faves will be allowed to take up valuable real estate. . 4. A mudroom rejig - some shoes no longer fit, some hats are never worn, and those shelves are not going to wipe themselves. 5. Check all toiletries for expiration dates (some only last 6-12 months) and give the bathroom cupboards a good detail while everything is out. You know how Bond likes his martini, shaken, not stirred. Well, we like our sweaters folded, not hung. Okay, granted, drinking martinis is much more fun than folding sweaters (debatable)...but might we recommend drinking a martini and THEN folding sweaters? Oh, right. Monday. Never mind. Whatever you decide, just remember that hanging sweaters will leave them distorted and with strange "horns" on the shoulders.
