Edition 05.02.2021

/edition Toronto will reboot in 2021 but we are pleased to announce that today the public access to the Art Toronto 2020 virtual fair is now live! Evolving with the times, @art_toronto presents a de-centralized event that expands its virtual and physical footprint, bringing the art community together to celebrate visual culture at the national level. ArtTO will through November 8, 2020, online with virtual exhibitions, curated collections, VIP programming, and the fair’s pop...ular PLATFORM Speaker Series. In addition to the virtual fair, audiences will be able to attend in-person exhibitions and events at participating galleries, expanding the fair’s experience across the country to hub cities: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Each hub city will feature galleries, pop-up spaces and institutions acting as satellite locations for a socially distanced art fair, where collectors, patrons and the culturally curious can attend talks, performances and exhibitions. In 2020, ArtTO will truly be Canada’s art fair. /edition Toronto looks forward to seeing everyone next year for the 5th iteration of Toronto’s Art Book Fair! #arttoronto #editiontoronto #artbookfair #editions #artistmultiples #artbooks

24 hours later we have mustered the energy to send these thanks to everyone who made 4/edition such an incredible success - and, all around good time! Thank you to our amazing volunteers (the best volunteers around!), our sponsors, namely Pro Print Services and the Office of Gilbert Li, co-founders MaryAnn and Gareth respectively from Magenta Foundation and 10 Years Ago Gallery, Convention Centre Staff, Mia Neilsen at Art Toronto, and her Art Toronto Staff, 4/edition artists ...Greg Ito, Juan Ortiz-Apuy, Julie Moon, Adam David Brown, Laura Dawe, Maya Fuhr and Michael Dumontier & Neil Farber, OCADU, all of the patrons who purchased works, all of the friends who brought coffees and extra chairs, and lastly, but with incredible weight and love, thank you to our excellent exhibitors! Thank you to those exhibitors who travelled long distances, who have exhibited with us for years, and those who were firsttimers -- our exhibitors make the fair what it is. Congratulations and thank you to all. Until next year for year five! Photos below from pre-opening night by incredible volunteer @nilin.

NEW /edition edition by Juan Ortiz-Apuy! 4edition is proud to present a number of newly created works produced in a limited quantity, available for purchase at edition's booth. Juan Ortiz-Apuy Aquatic Mint 3D Printed Nylon... 6.5 x 3.5 x 3.75" This sculpture is part of a body of work exploring animism and sympathetic magic in advertising, design and product display. I'm interested in the visual rhetoric that often surrounds brand and product identity, specially ideas of tropical exoticness, naturalness, freshness, etc. My work explores how objects are transformed into animate entities with affect and agencydrawing their power by means of likeness or resemblance to something else.
