Some tax updates regarding COVID-19: 1) All income taxes owing (personal or corporate) is deferred and not due until on or after August 31, 2020. 2) Personal tax (T1) deadline - June 1, 2020... 3) Trust Returns (T3) deadline - May 1, 2020 5) Large push to tell families and people who get GST tax credits to get their returns done and filed so that they continue to get the benefits come June, therefore continuing to do and file returns is important for these individuals, as well as families with kids will receive enhanced payments starting in June. 6) Self employed individuals can apply for EI starting April 1 and it needs to be done through My Account, so self employed individuals should get their My Accounts set up asap. The EI could be work $900 biweekly.
