The AGA announced earlier this year that they have made access to their spectacular exhibits FREE for all children and Alberta students. Coupled with their All-access evenings, we are truly fortunate to have this world-class facility in our neighbourhood, and available to us all! https://www.youraga.ca/visit/hours-and-admissions

What an amazing, interactive piece. THIS is the kind of art that provokes the masses. http://www.cbc.ca//from-pumpkins-to-polka-dots-yayoi-kusam

I would like to know from any and all: What contemporary Canadian artists in your opinion have done an equal or better job of bringing this planet and this country's natural beauties into your homes?

Whatever your politics, Kent Monkman's recent contribution to the Canadian art world is certainly profound. It contains strong statements that one cannot turn away from, and deserves the consideration of Canadians. While some of the allegorical representations are perhaps tenuous, the imagery is certainly compelling. It adds points to a conversation that must be had, points that must be accommodated and responded to, in the continued pursuit of reconciliation. It is our hope ...that this pursuit will result in Canada's First Nations achieving a lasting peace within their communities, allowing a greater benefit of their influence to the wider Canadian tapestry. As the Canadian consciousness continues to grow, so does the value attributable to Canada's First Nations artists. Here at EFC, we enjoy displaying and admiring beautiful works of art. But there is another side to the art world, that which strikes to the core of people's beliefs and values, and is the catalyst for conversation, argument, and resolution. If that is the goal of Mr. Monkman's latest venture, we would say mission accomplished. Well done, Mr. Monkman.
