The Living Vine - the very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit. When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is time to let living faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. We should be much in prayer. Christ is the vine, we are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, me must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine; for separated from the Vine, we have no strength.

As part of "Making a Difference Youth Week," the youth will be collecting and preparing some care packages for Terra Center. Terra Center is a non-profit organization that provides pregnant and parenting teens with options and support. The items collected will go to supporting these young parents and their children. This Sabbath, Jan 2, we will hold communion during our church service. Although we cannot partake all together in person, we invite you to join us virtually and participate from your homes. The church has prepackaged communion kits which can be picked up. Please contact the church office or Pastor to arrange a pick up time. You can also prepare your own communion bread by following this simple recipe which is adapted from the Seventh-day Adventist MInisters Handbook.... Flour-Salt Method cup fine-ground flour (preferably whole grain) teaspoon salt1 tablespoons cold water cup olive or vegetable oil Sift flour and salt together. Pour the water into the oil, but do not stir. Add this to the dry ingredients and mix with a fork until all the flour is dampened. Roll out between two sheets of waxed paper to the thickness of a thick pie pastry. Place on an ungreased, floured baking sheet, and mark off with a sharp knife into bite-size squared, being careful to prick each square to prevent blistering. Bake at 450 F for 10 to 15 minutes. Watch carefully during the last five minutes to prevent burning. Serves 25 persons.
