Taryn Andrusiak, from EG703, is today's feature senior. During her 8 seasons with EGHA, Taryn and her parents have always brought a positive vibe to their teams. Thank you for being such a great member of our EGHA family! "I started playing hockey 13 years ago when I was four years old, I started my minor hockey career with the Brave Raiders/Northstars association . Where I played forward for five years until I switched to defence atom 2nd year and joined EGHA. I have two me...mories that have stuck with me through my career. The first memory is when I was in my first year of Bantam my team won close to every game in the season and then we won minor hockey week, we even went to Stettler to play in provincials even though the outcome of provincials wasn’t what we wanted it was still a great experience filled with team bonding events that I will never forget. My second memory is when I was in my 2nd year of midget and my team had the opportunity to play at Rogers Place and Played against another EGHA team it was a once in a lifetime experience that I am very grateful for. 13 years of hockey is very hard to end so suddenly with the circumstances and I will miss every aspect of the game, I will especially miss all the out of town tournaments, staying in hotels and cramming all of my teammates into one hotel room and being excited for a weekend filled with practices and games. The biggest influences of my hockey career are my parents cause they are the ones that signed me up for hockey when I was four and made sure I was at every game and practice, my dad coached me up until my final year of hockey and showed me how I could improve my skills and overall game, my mom always helped out my team and cheered us on from the stands. I would like to thank all of the coaches I have had over the years that helped me improve my game and showed me how great of a sport hockey is, and hopefully I get to play again soon."
We’ll keep dreaming!

Happy Hockey Mom day, to our amazing hockey moms!
Meet NFLD's Silas! When Silas was born, he had a congenital club foot and was told he might never play sports. That didn’t stop him and he is now proud to say he is a "hockey player". Learn more about the #HCFAssistFund and how you can support kids like Silas: https://hc.hockey/3kqdqU1
Well, how things have changed in one year.
Support local! Mike Plume along with Edmonton artist Curtis Johnson just released a children’s book based on Mike’s song about Hockey More Than a Game (https://youtu.be/SyzkyZYiNYI). The book was just featured in the Edmonton Journal (https://edmontonjournal.com//edmonton-songwriter-mike-plum).... Both Mike and Curtis are Alberta guys and have been obsessed with hockey since they were kids. The book is available by going to Mike’s website (www.mikeplume.com) or bandcamp (mikeplume.bandcamp.com) under merch.
