The 2021 Shean Strings Competition will be taking place virtually on May 21 and 22, 2021. Competitors wanting to share their performances, or giving us permission to share them, will take place after the Competition. The winners will be announced Sat. May 22 following the judges’ ruling.

No Spring 2021 Festival 2021 Festival to be Held in November On Sunday, January 17, 2021, the Festival Board met and voted unanimously to not have a Festival in April/May 2021. There are too many unknowns at this time concerning COVID-19. A detailed email has been sent to teachers. If you did not receive it, please contact Heather Bedford-Clooney at [email protected]... We are planning to have a Festival in November 2021, and more details will be forthcoming at a later date. We are also planning on returning to our normal April/May timeslot in 2022.

Kent Sutherland, the Festival's Executive Assistant, turns 50 next month (March 5). To mark this momentous birthday, he has decided that he want to raise funds for the Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival (formerly known as the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival).

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 AMEF Student Recognition Awards! Please SHARE this post! Each award is $500, available for either Music Perform...ance OR Community Service, in two age group categories. With today's Provincial proclamation, the Festival is cancelled as of tomorrow (Wednesday, November 25). No classes taking place November 25-28 will be happening and all participants in those classes will receive a complete refund by the end of November/early-December. Thank you for your willingness to participate in the Festival during this time, and we really hoped we would have been able to finish the run of the Festival. We will keep people apprised if an April Festival will happen in the new year.
