2 WEEK CIRCUIT BREAKER During the temporary health and safety restrictions for the St. John's and Marine Institute campuses (Feb. 10-23), the following library services are suspended: contact-less pickup, on-campus study space and in-person research appointments with special collections. All remote library services remain available. Grenfell Campus Library in Corner Brook is unaffected and continuing to offer contact-less pickup and on-campus study space. For the latest information on Library Services: visit here. https://www.library.mun.ca/covid-19/
Today is International Trans Day of Visibility. It is a day to celebrate transgender and non-binary people around the world, honour their accomplishments and also raise awareness of discrimination that is still happening every day. Here at the Education Library, we have a great selection of books to help educate and get the conversation started.
Today! Have a listen.
Getting back into the groove.
An interesting read on one of the many items in our collection. This one's a classic! https://melmagazine.com//the-phantom-tollbooth-is-the-perf
Happy International Women’s Day! May we continue to stand up for what we believe in and never be afraid to use our voices to be heard. Who will you be honouring today?
Although we are not open for in-person services, you know you can still borrow physical items and enjoy stress free contactless pick up by appointment. Read about it here: https://www.library.mun.ca/covid-19/contactless-pickup/ We can't wait to serve you soon.... Photo Credit Kristine Power See more
Do you need a Doctor in the house? Have your say! We're especially looking at you, marvelous Masters Grads. All input welcome.
Happy Diwali! One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". We hope you have a wonderful day!
Our selection of books to display this week are on consent and body autonomy. It can be a difficult topic for younger children to understand, so hopefully this selection of books will help to get the discussion started. We are always looking for new book recommendations, so if you have any you feel that we need, please email us at [email protected]. If you would like to request any of these titles please feel free to book a contactless pickup and we will be more than happy to get your books to you.
Quiet study available on the holiday, if you need it.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard -A.A Milne Our selection of books this week are on loss. Whether it be the loss of a parent, grandparent, or pet, children can have a hard time processing their emotions when an event like this happens. As always, if there are any books you think we should add to our collection please email: [email protected] ... If any of these books appeal to you, please make a request and arrange for a contactless pickup and we will be more than happy to get your books to you. https://www.library.mun.ca/covid-19/contactless-pickup/
