MORE EXCITING NEWS!!!!....Valemount College is pleased to further announce that through the generous support of the Valemount Learning Society/Valemount Learning Centre, bursaries of $2000.00 per student are available for students wishing to begin their post-secondary studies at Valemount College during our inaugural 2019 year. Additionally, unemployed people living in the Columbia Basin may also qualify for the Columbia Basin Trust Training Initiatives Grant which covers 75% of training costs up to a maximum of $7500. With financial support available from these two areas, students should be able to cover most of the tuition costs for attending our Tourism Administration Program as well as our Rural Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Program. Students taking certificate programs during the College's first year of operations will receive a $2,000 Inaugural Bursary from the Valemount Learning Society. To qualify, students must submit a program application prior to the registration deadline of February 15,2019.Additional funding may also be available to qualified students.

Valemount is the closest community to the majestic Mount Robson- the highest mountain in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Visit Valemount and take a day trip out to the beautiful mountain, or camp nearby. There are several camping spots Mount Robson Provincial Park but book early as they tend to fill up! Oh, and don't be disappointed if the top of the mountain is covered in cloud, as it often is.

Looking for different ways to enjoy the sunshine? Valemount Bike Park is a great place to visit for both beginner riders and experts! Due to it being early season still, the upper trails (High Roller and Turducken) are not open yet, but there are many lower trails to explore. Peter has worked as a Mountain Guide in many ranges of Western Canada for 35+ years. He routinely works for many of the Alpine Club of Canada camps, has trained the Canadian Military’s Search and Rescue Technicians, is an examiner for the ACMG Hiking Guide program, has worked as an avalanche guide for Marmot Basin, and Lead Guide for Robson Helimagic.
