Today is the first day of Spring, so don't forget to do your spring electrical checklist! Here is a spring electrical checklist to make sure your home is warm weather ready: ~Check all wiring to pools or hot tubs. A short circuit is no fun.... ~Check and test all outdoor lighting, security and motion detectors. ~Check/Change all bulbs in landscape lighting. Be ready for outdoor entertaining in the evenings. ~Install or repair any ceiling fans or attic fans to keep cool in the upcoming months. ~After checking your ceiling fan for repairs make sure to change the direction of the fan. (make sure it pushes air down for the warmer months) ~Check all outdoor plugs to make sure they are working and up to code and electrical outlets are covered. ~Check all outdoor extension cords. Make sure they are not frayed and don't overheat. ~Anytime is a good time to check all vents and make sure they are not blocked and air can access freely both in and out of the house. ~Anytime is a good time to change the batteries or check the wiring and make sure your smoke detectors are in working order.
