A few years ago, Tania’s dreams were shattered by leprosy and it was impossible to see any future in front of her. Unfortunately, Tania lost her feet and most of her fingers, but when she came to the Leprosy Mission Hospital, she was accurately diagnosed, and received treatment to cure the disease and emotional support after years of being shunned in her community as a young girl. She no longer felt alone. Tania also found love in the leprosy community. She met Kalu, a fellow... patient, and they got married. Though she struggles to perform daily chores, and Kalu lovingly carries her up and down the stairs, this mother bravely continues on for her young children. Kalu and Tania have been trained on how to recognize the early signs of leprosy in their children. Their kids never have to suffer the same devastating effects they experienced.
