HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND This last week I have been a little MIA over here We finally got away to go visit my daughter in Kelowna and do all the things I was pretty excited to go for a Trail Run up Knox Mountain for all the views Living on the flat prairies doesn’t allow any elevation training so I have been climbing the Jacobs Ladder @edgyfitprovost to train for the ability to get stronger in my uphill endurance ... We also played tennis golf simulator bowling , it feels so refreshing to take a break from the business and recharge my batteries and do all the things that bring me Joy I also have been digging deep into some really exciting learning with @ntatraining that has been something that I have been wanting to add to my portfolio of skills in my business for years. The last 2 months in Term 1 have been an amazing experience Learning and also balancing life and owning a business in these interesting times, BuT I have spent 13 years building this business and know that I am exactly where I am ment to be and couldn’t be more proud Do you set GOALS? Setting Short term and long term goals helps you daily create habits to achieve what you want your life to look like. In my physical healthbusiness and personal lifestyle I have set goals to live the life I want and can see my long term goals in all these areas unfolding. Creating foundations Being able to do the little things with consistency is when you will be able to expand all areas of your lifestyle It’s a journey to evolve. This is one of my clients @lisambooker that I see on my Stretch table as well as in the gym. Lisa has some imbalances that we are working on building on to prevent injury and move her forward to build a strong core foundationhealthy tissues, tendons, ligaments, muscles and then a strong , robust aerobic system ... This entire process also involves creating well balanced nutrition habits to increase recovery and daily lifestyle activities that works for her body and her life. MOVING through HEALTH Over the years the health-wellness-fitness industry has evolved and become confusing to so many. I have always been curious to nourishing better, but not willing to live in a space of diet culture and not eating real food. ... For me there are deep rooted reasons for that, one main reason is that when I was 16 yrs old I started having epileptic seizures that scared me and made me very aware of how foods, alcohol, lack of sleep made me feel. I became very aware of when a seizure was coming on, and IF you are a teenager, its scary and lets face it, embarrassing. I searched over the years to feel my best and have balance in a confusing space. The industry has changed so much, eat this, don't eat that, if it fits your macros eat whatever the heck you want! WTF!!! Last week I wrote and assignment for my Nutritional Therapy Course on the evolution of the modern diet, the research in how and why the food industry has evolved over time is interesting, and sadly it comes down to money, rather then true health. In our house, its about learning better and balancing to live a robust lifestyle and I am slowly creating awareness to my husband of BETTER for his health. lol. Simple swaps is helping him make better nutrient dense choices for his lunches he packs for work. Swapping out highly processed sandwich meats (which he LOVED ) to roasted chicken or tuna wraps with veggies, and servings of fruit on the side has been a easy swap for him. Educating him on eating breakfast to start his day off right...he NEVER ate breakfast. My favourite swap for him was teaching him about healthy OILS. Popcorn is his favourite snack, I had him change to a healthy oil to cook with the next step is moving to a healthy grass fed butter to flavour with. The goal is to make it sustainable, something he can embrace and help change his taste palate. Over time our bodies change, my personal goal in my own health & fitness is to consistently nourish my gut health, balance hormones and nourish by keeping my body safe from inflammation. Every body is different, and awareness is gold. Above all, don't forget life purpose is to LIVE. Everything that I personally do must allow me to enjoy the hell out of this one blessed life.
