When hurt sits in the human heart too long, it has such a propensity to turn into versions of hate. And then it leaks out into reactions that are way out of pro...portion to the offense at hand. Have you ever seen someone completely lose it in a fit of anger and do things their rational, mature self would never do? Studies show when there are unresolved issues or intense emotions related to memories, people can have reactions that look like the age at which they were traumatized as a child. Those who are most easily angered are often those who refuse healing where they’re most deeply wounded. If we can remember this, we can stop attending every drama to which we are invited. We can be hurt but we don’t have to live hurt. We can be offended but we don’t have to live offended. We can be wounded but we don’t have to live wounded. #ForgivingWhatYouCantForget
