Well despite all the craziness in the world & that for the 3rd time, we had to cancel more cottage bookings, we are hopeful that moving forward, everyone can have a Happy Easter & enjoy their families this weekend. Here is hoping for things to return to normal very soon & we can all go back to enjoying life the way that we should be able to. Can't wait until we have no further disruptions in cottage bookings!! Wellll ..... ready or not, snow has fallen in Highlands East at EKKS Cottage. The pumpkin is on the front porch still with snow all around like a display of our upcoming season change. Still enjoying Halloween season at the moment though!!

LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS EAST JUST OUTSIDE OF GOODERHAM ON A VERY PRIVATE 2 ACRE WOODED LOT, ONLY A 15 MINUTE WALK OR 3 MINUTE DRIVE TO GLAMOR & LITTLE GLAMOR LAKES RIGHT AT THE END OF OUR COTTAGE ROAD.... DATES AVAILABLE: CHOOSE EITHER FROM: 1) FRIDAY OCTOBER 9TH - MONDAY OCTOBER 12TH @ $525 OR: 2) THURSDAY OCTOBER 8TH - MONDAY OCTOBER 12TH @ $640 **** Our rates DO include firweood, BBQ propane & use of a canoe & 2 kayaks. We sleep up to 6 maximum comfortably & are pet friendly. Cozy up inside by the propane fireplace or outside at the stone firepit surrounded by forest & muskoka chairs. PLEASE NOTE**** We do require filled out rental forms as well as a $250 returnable damage deposit. We do also require a $50 pet stay fee if beinging a dog. This is really unfortunate for these poor families that have been scammed but you do have to be careful & there are many wonderful cottage rentals & owners out there!! Ask a lot of questions to the cottage owners & if you feel uncomfortable, maybe something is not right? As for the payment portion, typically the most common payment method for us has been e-transfer but we have now added credit card payments via Mastcard, Visa & American Express for those that would feel more ...secure & comfortable with this payment method. A good rental agreement or contract between the cottage owners & cottage renters with both owners information as well as the renters is something that EKKS Cottage also does, (which we believe helps make both sides feel more comfortable). The only misleading thing about this article is that you do not have to be "registered" to be a legit cottage rental. If your cottage rental property makes under $30,000 in a tax year, it is not required to be "registered". Don't let this stop you from renting but do your due diligence. Happy renting everyone!!
