Diamante, coffee from El Salvador! These pictures were taken in November - just before hurricanes Eta and Iota. Some plantations were flooded or lost in land slides; many suffered damages due to high winds especially in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras. It takes roughly 2,000 cherries to produce one pound of roasted coffee! Naturally, the coffee cherries don’t all ripen at once so it requires the coffee picker to spend more time on each tree. Picking good quality coffee requires discerning hands, and only a great deal of care will ensure that the ripest cherries are hand-picked from the trees.
