I'm super excited to share this with y'all - Black Box is a student-run lab that will specialize in creating original TV dramas. Open to SCAD students of any major or previous experience, we'll focus on producing darker, avant-garde and experimental work. Over the course of a quarter, we'll meet regularly and progress efficiently from pitch to pilot. A showrunner will be chosen to spearhead each project, while other members will contribute as staff writers.... Send a message my way if you want to attend the interest meeting on Nov. 19.

Ok y'all. This short took 2 YEARS! https://www.benelhav.com/strangerfilm A lonely alien stranded on earth needs one thing to stay alive. He might get it from the wealthy Duchess who finds him... if he could only work up the courage to ask. A film that explores the literal and figurative alienation of being at a new school in a new town, Stranger to Love is a look into my mindset during my first year away from home at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Like the Stranger,... I felt completely alone very often. Even worse, it's all too easy to let a need for friendship turn into defeatism too quickly. You begin to assume that no one can understand you, and no one is worth your time. With this film, I wanted to explore the difficulty of making friends, but with empathy to myself and to others. You may feel spurned and alone, but the solution is to say what you want instead of choking up. At the same time, no one owes you their friendship. Like the Duchess, others may find it hard to open up to someone new for fear of getting hurt again. Getting to know someone can be a messy, vulnerable, and agonizingly slow process. But it can also pay off. The proof is in the great camaraderie of this cast and crew, who pulled together to help me make this unlikely and ambitious film. In particular I owe my thanks to Luisa, who gave a fantastic first-time performance as the Duchess. Without her friendship, none of this would be possible.

There are rare moments in life when you have a chance to contribute to something that truly inspires. This month, I had the honor and pleasure of working with a fantastic team on the SCAD Savannah Film Festival as an intern. Together, we helped bring some of the best films of the year to thousands of wonderful festival-goers and fellow SCAD students. Thank you for all that you do and for an incredible experience
