In 2016 our family decided to fix our finances. We stumbled through years of trial and error and eventually we found our way. On the other side I decided I need to share this system, this sense of relief with others. Today I’m spending some time writing out a list of those things that I haven’t gotten to like: - recording income and expenses for January - doing a quick review of my banking statements to look for anything unusual... - starting to prep my tax documents - signing up for that free Equifax credit monitoring that I received a year ago that expires next month if I don’t sign in. . There are enough financial things to manage without having a high maintenance monthly budget. . Streamline your cash flow so you have confidence knowing that your money is working for you. It makes those other to-dos not so much of a hassle. . My favourite way is using savings buckets. Creating separation helps visual learners be able to do a quick inventory and see progress at a glance. And that is something worth celebrating! . I’m a huge fan of Chiropractic. I was raised in a chiropractic family. One of the guiding principles is that Chiropractic helps to strengthen the body to thrive in the environment, not adjust the environment to suit an ailing body. (Emergency care is exceptional, I understand that clearly don’t @ me) . This can be applied to our money relationships. If we stay in a place of reaction, of cutting and removing and shrinking, we miss the opportunity to grow stronger, more abundan...t and able to handle whatever life throws at us. . I love Wednesdays Tuesdays are always a crazy day for me. Yesterday I was GOING for 14 hours, physically working in clinic, in zoom meetings, PTA meetings, Dinner, bedtime. I’m DONE done by nighttime. So Wednesday I block an hour to do whatever I want. Last week I ran, this week I had a fun coffee chat with someone I admire, painted and went into a coaching call and I felt way more alive today. I’ll be able to connect with my spouse, connect with my kids, & with my clients b...ecause I’m connected to myself. . I say all this to say: feed your soul. You can do all the things, but to quote the famous @jvn just because you Ameri-can doesn’t mean you Ameri-should. . It’s okay to get after your goals without a fever pitch. It’s okay to take the slow and steady approach if that feels better. .
