Hello everybody. We would like to give you some ideas and tips about your vehicle's repairs or if you are in the market to purchase a new or used vehicle. Nobody likes to loose money and buying a vehicle could become a money pit if you don't have the right knowledge and tools to identify what is considered a good car or a lemon. It is always recommended to have a professional mechanic or shop inspect the vehicle you want to purchase but if you want to take the challenge your...self consider the following tips: 1. ALWAYS make your diligent homework; research as much as you can about the vehicle. Are parts readily available? what other owners have to said about its reliability? does it have any factory recalls? etc. 2. Ask for service records; has it been serviced on the factory recommended intervals? a properly maintained vehicle can go a long way in its optimal performance and reliability. Get accident and claims history on it. You don't want to end with an unsafe vehicle. 3, Drive the vehicle normally: take the vehicle on a nice long drive; advise the owner that you will do a few hard stops and accelerations. Road tests will tell you what the vehicle's driving performance is at; pay close attention to unusual noises, uneven steering, spongy brakes etc. 4. Never buy something just because you like it. Emotions can play you tricks when it comes to buying a car. It is vital to have a professional mechanic to come and inspect the vehicle on site, since he is not attached emotionally to the decision you are about to make he will give you an unbiased report on the vehicle's condition. Car buying can be a wonderful experience but it also can be stressful if you don't make the right purchase.
