Happy Family Day weekend Nanaimo! Hope everyone is enjoying the snow & staying safe! We are so grateful for everyone who have had a roll in our Elderdog PAWD thus far... but we still need more help! We are currently in need of someone who wants to be on our executive team! Please see below! ... Elderdog Canada Nanaimo PAWD is in need of a Co-Rehoming coordinator! The Rehoming coordinator plays a big role for Elderdog Nanaimo; They are responsible for finding foster homes, finding new homes for adoptable dogs, liaises with vets, and maintaining active/up to date records for all dogs in the PAWD. There are monthly meetings that would require your attendance. Another key component of the Rehoming Coordinator is to perform in-home visits of any volunteer who may wish to foster, or of any candidate who has applied to adopt a dog. These duties have been adjusted to be Covid-safe! Elderdog Canada has been designated as an essential service! Meaning we’ve been actively helping dogs & their owners in our community throughout the pandemic! We already have one amazing Rehoming coordinator; meaning you’d never be alone and always have someone to assist you! Roxy Roxy is all ears when she hears the word adoption! This sweet girl is a four year old lab mix who loves her people, cozy beds and couches, walks and treats... the term loyal companion fits her perfectly. Although she’s young, she’s a bit of an old soul and is used to living in a quiet home with a senior. Roxy is shy when meeting new people, but bonds very quickly with her person and would love to be in a one or two-person household. She loves to spend time snuggling on the couch and will be your little shadow, keeping you company wherever you go around the house. Due to previous experiences, she is not comfortable with other dogs or children. She hasn’t been cat-tested but is calm and friendly when she sees outdoor cats and would likely do well with a dog-savvy cat as a roommate.
