Adoption Pending! UPDATE February 15: we are no longer accepting applications. We have had an overwhelming response to these three. Thank you to all that appli...ed. Meet Teeny, Tiny and Scooby, affectionately known as The Littles. This small but mighty troupe have been together for 8 years. Teeny, age 9, is the Mama; Scooby and Tiny, age 8, are her offspring. They came into Elderdog’s care when their guardian could no longer care for them, with the singular request that they stay together as a family. They have had a recent wellness check, are spayed/neutered and up to date on their vaccinations and they get along easily with the other dogs and cat in their foster home. The Littles crave safety, comfort and routine. They love to huddle together and will happily snooze under any blanket they come across. True to their breed, they are quiet, playful, fun and affectionate with familiar people in their home. They alert quickly to unfamiliar people or places and can swiftly shift into gang mode when they feel threatened: the best defense, after all, is a good offence. Teeny, 6 lbs, is a sweet natured, balanced girl, reserved yet alert, slow to react, affectionate and loving. She’ll seek your attention by bouncing on her hind legs while waving her paws in the air until you pay her some love. Tiny, 5 lbs, is a powerhouse. Confident, outgoing, talkative and bossy. She shoots first and asks questions later. Tiny has no idea of her actual size; she is the first in line for everything! Tiny has loose kneecaps in her back legs, which doesn’t bother her a bit. She also has a soft, small airway which causes her to sound noisy when she breathes and sleeps. She can be prone to goose honking and reverse sneezing both of which sound worse than they are, but will need to be monitored. These are chronic conditions common in small dogs. Scooby, 6 lbs, is a darling, misunderstood by the women in his life. He’s a follower. Although he is less confident than his sister and somewhat dependent on his Mama, he’s always the first to offer the softest kisses and seek bellyrubs and snuggles! Scooby loves destroying stuffy toys with squeakers and chewies. The comical Littles are easy and fun to live with. In warmer weather they like to go on walks; in the colder weather, they like to go outside for a quick pee and poke around the yard, but are content to stay mainly indoors. They go potty on pee pads (almost, but not quite 100%) or outdoors. Although they are very loyal to their person and not likely to run away, due to their size they will need to be on-leash at all times except in 100% securely fenced areas. A fenced yard is not required. The Littles will need gentle, calm, patient and positive interactions to adjust to a new environment. A home experienced with Chihuahuas where someone is at home most of the time, would be ideal. If you are interested in being considered for these three, please email [email protected]

***Adoption Needed*** Adoption Opportunity! Meet the beautiful GEORDI! Geordi is a 9 year old, 55 lb, spayed female, mixed breed. It is believed that she is a ...Beagle/ Golden Retriever cross, and has the lovely sable and topaz, medium-haired coat, reminiscent of each breed. Geordi is up to date on her vaccinations and is in very good health. She has a slight allergy to some foods but is happy on her current regime. She's a very good girl overall and well-trained. She can be left alone for 8 hour periods while you are at work, where she will wait for you by sleeping the day away. Geordi loves to talk and will grumble/ growl as she discusses the day with you. Geordi does have a lot of energy and will need someone to take her on long walks, or multiple shorter walks, or adventures that provide mental stimulation every day. Geordi does have some fear-reactivity/ anxiety to other dogs, and new or different surroundings. Geordi loves to go on walks and have fun but she does not do well with unfamiliar dogs, or dogs who charge at her, and she needs to be given the time and space to get to know them. Geordi does respect her commands when in these situations, and she will get along with most dogs once proper, controlled greetings have occurred and some time has passed for her to get to know them. She will also bark when the doorbell rings or when she meets new people. As such she needs an adopter who is familiar with fear-anxiety and reactivity in dogs, or someone who is willing to learn, or obtain the training necessary to help Geordi become the best she can be. We would prefer that Geordi were in a home where she is the princess of the castle, and there are no other pets. She listens to commands and she is a sweet girl who would be happy in a loving home that is willing to work with her quirks. Geordi is currently located in Squamish, BC. If you feel you are interested in this this amazing sweet girl who is full of character, please contact her re-homing coordinator Michelle at [email protected]. Please remember we may receive more than one application; as always we choose the best fit for our dogs and the choices is about what's in their best interest. #elderdogvancouver #elderdogcanada #dogsforadoption #adoptdontshop #adoptdogs #seniorpets #dogsarethebest
