I am a mother with a young son just beginning his educational journey and the adverse impacts to him and others during this pandemic is both noticeable and heartbreaking. And for this government to take these children, my child and treat them as political pawns in their pursuit of ideologica...l reasons rooted in the quest to erode public education is shameful, and leaves me infuriated. At RETSD's board meeting last night, I can attest that not only did I speak up for teachers in the division but all staff, our children and families. The government has continued to expect divisions to turn on a dime with little to no extra fiancial support. I also asked questions regarding any additional information regarding accessing federal funds for RETSD. It was confirmed that the government has not provided any direction on how or when those funds can be accessed and ...the conditions for divisions to access those funds.
