What is Paradoxical Hypertrichosis? It is an adverse reaction from post treatments of Laser hair removal. The effects result in a significant increased amount of hair growth, with the hairs appearing more course and black at the site of previous laser treatments! In my practice I have been seeing this more and more often from people experiencing these side effects from lasers.... Common areas someone can experience Paradoxically Hypertrichosis would be: Chin Neck/ Hair line around the Neck area Cheeks Side burns Upper lip Stomach Shoulders Chest/back It is also known that hormonal imbalances such as PCOS and certain medications can increase the chance of an individual experiencing Paradoxical Hypertrichosis with Laser treatments. Please do your research and be aware of the risks!! Laser can work great for reducing hair growth in certain areas of the body only if you are a good candidate. Electrolysis treatments has never caused increased hair growth. With each session the hairs become much thinner, less course while coming in more and more sporadic until the hairs eventually go away PERMANENTLY! #laserinducedhairgrowth#paradoxicalhypertrichosis#electrolysisworks#electrology#fdaapproved#hormonalimbalance#hirsutism#permanenthairremoval#smallbusinessowner

You may have wondered or heard that Electrolysis may take time to see permanent results. This is very true! Our hairs have different growth cycles. ANAGEN, CATAGEN, TELOGEN, A hair can only be destroyed if treated in the growing phase with is called the ANAGEN phase. If a hair is in its TELOGEN stage the Electrologist cannot kill the hair root no matter how skilled they are. That is because the hair is not receiving any more blood supply and nourishment from the Dermal Papill...a. (The Dermal Papilla is what must be destroyed to stop a new hair from forming) The probe cannot reach the Dermal Papilla when it is in its resting stage(TELOGEN phase). An Electrologist can tell if they have treated a TELOGEN hair by how the bulb of the follicle looks. You can see in this photo I took, the hair is black but the bulb appears white! We call this a Club hair. In the TELOGEN phase the hair bulb shrinks in size and looses its colour because it has stopped receiving nourishment from the Dermal Papilla. This is one factor that explains why you must be patient when receiving your Electrolysis treatments. Electrolysis is truly permanent but it takes time and patience to see those great results! #electrolysisworks#electrolgy#behairfree#permanenthairremoval#hormomalimbalance#PCOS#hirsutism#hypertrichosis#smallbuisnessowner#lovemyjob#electrolysistreatment

So glad to be back working and getting rid of everyone’s unwanted hair!! This is a picture of white and red hairs that I treated. The white may be difficult to view as there is no pigment to those hairs. Did you know Electrolysis uses an electrical current that is emitted into the hair follicle via a tiny probe which targets and destroys the dermal papilla (nourishment and blood supply to the hair)... This is why Electrolysis can successfully treat all hair colours and hair types from black, grey, white, red, blond, course or fines hairs. Unlike Laser hair removal which works only by targeting the melanin(colour) in the hair. This is why it is not possible to successfully treat white and grey hairs with lasers. #electrolysisworks#electrology#permanenthairremoval#behairfree#electrologists#hormonalinbalance#hirustism#PCOS#lovemyjob #smallbuisnessowner#hypertrichosis

Did you know that their are 3 different phases of hair growth? The Hair Dermal Papilla is located at the base of the hair follicle which is like a pocket in the skin that houses the hair. This Dermal Papilla is all the blood supply and nourishment thats feeds the hair in order for it to grow. If a hair is treated in the Anagen Phase (active stage) an Electrologist is cable of destroying that hair follicle because the probe that is used in treating the follicle can reach the d...ermal papilla which is what we need to target for complete destruction of the hair follicle. That is why Electrolysis treatments is a process and an individual receiving treatment must be patient and consistent with their treatments because hairs may be treated when they are in the Catagen (transitional) or Telogen (resting, or dormant) phase of growth and can not be destroyed in those phases of growth no matter how skilled the Electrologist may be. However the hairs treated in those phases will begin to grow back much finer and less course. Now you know!! #hairgrowthcycle#electrolysisworks#electrolysispermanenthairremoval#electrologists##behairfree#lovemyjob
