My Platform. As councillor, I would propose the following improvements to Ward 3. 3-way stop sign at Whitepine Road and Buckingham Avenue... Sidewalk on Sussex Avenue Resurfacing and curb and gutter on Wentworth Drive Revitalization of Manchester and Wentworth Parks Redevelopment of the Lions Community Park Outside of the ward, I would be an asset to council for such items as: Expansions of Winter Wonderland Park and Mill Creek Nature Park Construction of the Community Wellness Centre Re-evaluation and updating of the Town's Strategic Plan.

I am proud to be a third generation Riverview resident. My grandparents, Les and Betty Stokes, built their first home in Riverview Heights in 1953. Here they raised three sons, Shawn, Thayne, and Troy. All the boys returned home to Riverview after their post-secondary education to raise their own tight-knit families. After living on Pembroke Crescent and Cleveland Avenue, my parents, Thayne and Diana, chose Page Street to raise their young sons in 1989. This is where my... brother Ryan and I grew up. As children we spent a lot of time in the Lions Park, playing in the playground, playing baseball on the diamond, and swimming in the pool. We attended West Riverview Elementary School, Riverview Junior High, Riverview Middle, and Riverview High School. I graduated from Riverview High School in 2000 with honours and received a full scholarship to the Royal Military College. After service with the military, I returned home to Riverview. Shortly thereafter, I married my beautiful wife Jennifer. We bought our first home on Lansdowne Court in 2012 and are excited to be part of this neighbourhood because of the excellent schools, parks, swimming pools, and sports facilities. Professionally, I work in the commercial construction industry and have held positions as carpenter, foreman, site superintendent, and project manager. My experience in construction management in areas such as proposals, budgets, contracts, and the tendering process will be a significant asset to the next Town Council. See more
