The bus network redesign offers on-demand service for areas that are underserved by the new bus routes. As you can see from this screen shot, there are no on-demand stops in the entirety of north Edmonton, including communities in Ward 4 (soon to be Dene ward). I'm curious to hear your thoughts. To find bus network redesign maps and information, see here: https://www.edmonton.ca/project//bus-network-redesign.aspx
Yesterday, while delivering flyers in the York community, I ran across a number of these "stop closing" signs. The bus network redesign takes effect later this month: have you seen how you're affected? I maintain that the redesign is the right idea, but unfortunately executed poorly. I've also included some screen shots of the current and future bus service (daytime) in York. Let me know what you think. You can learn more and find the new routes and maps here: https://www.edmonton.ca/project//bus-network-redesign.aspx
Today was another beautiful day to get out and deliver flyers. As much as I'd love to knock doors and have some conversations with residents, I know that needs to wait for awhile. Ten of us (including two pint-sized but eager volunteers) spent time in York (including the playground) and covered about 80% of homes in the neighbourhood. A big thank you to my volunteers, big and small and if you'd like to join us and get your steps in, please sign up at electTricia.ca. while I may have nearly reached 14,000 steps, when you consider all the adults who took part, that's close to 100,000 in about two hours! I also discovered why the Easter bunny skipped my house: no directions! Kudos to the family who made it clear.
Happy Easter! My one-of-a-kind Easter egg is courtesy of my young nieces. I hope your Easter is as fresh, beautiful, joyous, and full of love and wonder as this piece of art is.
It was beautiful outside today and I was really happy to head out with a couple volunteers to deliver flyers in Kernohan (and get some steps in!). Due to rising covid cases, there was no door knocking this time, but I look forward to returning later during the campaign. Still some ground to cover in the neighbourhood, but if you live north of 132 Avenue in Kernohan, you'll find a flyer in your mailbox.
I've already heard from some residents of the Dene ward (formerly ward 4) that you want to see the streets cleaned. Good news: street sweepers are starting their work.
