How old were you when you started dancing? 9 years old (I did figure skating before I started dance!) What's your favourite style of dance? Ballet! But I do love a good "feel-good" lyrical combo!... Who is your biggest inspiration (in life or in dance)? Female entrepreneurs! Misty Lown, Shonda Rhimes, and my mama! - Aside from being my Mom, she's had a pretty big influence on my life as a business owner. How long have you been teaching at the studio? Since its inception ;) What's your favourite dance move? A side jete! I love to jump! Why do you love teaching dance/what is your favourite part of being a teacher?I love that dance is so inclusive - dance is innately in everyone, and as a teacher I have the ability to help my students access all of the joys that dance can bring you! I also love seeing the difference that dance can make in the lives of various children - whether it's a child that struggles with self esteem, extreme shyness, physical disabilities, etc...I've seen dance have such a positive effect on kids, and that's something that's pretty cool to watch. What's your favourite hobby/activity outside of dancing? Spending time with my family/kids. Live music, days by the pool, evening walks, skating, skiing...love being active! What's something you can't live without? Chocolate :) What are you looking forward to most this year? Recital!
