I’m starting a Reno in an old Ladysmith home today. Sealing drywall and prepping trim. One of the things that helps set Element Painting apart from some other painting companies is my attention to detail. Sometimes drywallers don’t do their job with as much pride and attention as I do mine. Checking over their mudding and sanding is the first step I take before applying primer. Good thing I did as these drywallers didn’t come back to sand their final patches. Those little ridges show through greatly after paint. Glad I took the time to check.

In my spray shop I’ve pre-painted many projects in the wet and cold weather. My favourite carpenter, from Red Door Finishing, then installs the various doors or cabinet pieces at all times of the year so that all I need to do is come along in the dryer weather and touch things up!

It is possible to paint in the cold weather! I did this exterior trim on a new build using a paint that is meant to be used in cold temperatures. There are a few tricks to it, but give us a call if you’re building or what to change your exterior trim or siding before summer.
