Action Item: Sign on to support our call to immediately increase EIA by $300 per person, per month for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. https://docs.goog...le.com//1FAIpQLScpLAd_k9Ugbe9R-4/viewform Manitoba is experiencing a health crisis of unprecedented proportions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This health crisis has also become an economic crisis for households across Manitoba with rapidly increasing unemployment and many businesses and services closed. People who receive financial help through Manitoba’s Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) program have not been spared from the effects of this crisis. Text of the post: Basic Needs are essential during a crisis... Immediately increase the EIA budget by $300 per person, per month for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. This increase will support basic necessities like: Wifi Students and families nows at home need access to WiFi for distance learning and education. Individuals and families who rely on EIA do not have the costs of WiFi connection provided in their supports. Additionally, connecting with loved ones during social distancing requires WiFi, a support that is necessary for all during this period of isolation. Increase EIA to help all Manitobans stay safe. #mbpoli #kNOwPoverty

Although it might not be very nice outside, here are 4 things you can do indoors this weekend! 1. G-FIT Wellness has two classes you can take: Saturday, 10 AM A...b workout + Sunday, 10 AM Yoga workout 2. Avoid the grocery store and do your grocery shop online through Diversity Food Services. They offer produce and frozen meal options 3. Take the evening off and order dinner from a local restaurant. Bonus points if you locate a restaurant using: https://buylocal.ly 4. Prep for a more low-key Easter: preorder your Easter feast from The King's Head Pub new online shop and stock up with chocolates from Mordens' of Winnipeg Tell us in the comments what you are getting up to this weekend!
