Important Tax Information for anyone who collected government support in 2020: If you collected government support like CERB, for example, you will have an extra year to pay taxes owing, interest-free. Important caveat - this only applies your total income is less than $75K. Remember, the deadline to file is still April 30, 2021 but, the deadline to pay (without interest) is now April 30, 2022.... Meet your teacher! Dr. Tanya (Toni) De Mello, Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion Expert. With a background comprising finance, management consulting, and law, Tanya (Toni) De Mello has spent much of her career focusing on and researching, equity, diversity and inclusion. She is a human rights lawyer and a certified coach and mediator. In her current role, she teaches at Ryerson University and was the Director of Human Rights for four years there. She is currently setting u...p Canada's newest law school at Ryerson as Assistant Dean. In addition to founding two NGOs, Toni has served in the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the World Food Programme. She recently successfully completed her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto on bias in hiring. She examined recruitment and interview processes and focused on the fit interview in particular and asking: What does it mean to fit? Who fits? And who doesn't?

We all carry bias, it exists in every facet of our world; at work, at home, in the classroom and even social media. Our next class with Dr. Tany (Toni) De Mello will help us understand some of the ways in which we consciously and unconsciously include/exclude others and provide actionable steps to tackle our unconscious bias.
