It Tax season again. It seems to come around so fast. Looking forward to hearing from all of you again, plus some newcomers. Some people get excited about a new purse or new shoes. Everyone in life has knowledge to share and most are not aware that they do have a gift to share. Your gift of knowledge may seem like nothing to you, but for someone who does not have the understanding of your gift, will be eternally grateful. My gift to you is to help you through tax season. We are now in the beginning of yet another New Year. I hope you all made good choices on what your New Year's resolution would be. Hope everyone is having a great summer just don't forget to save for a winter vacation to get away from the dreary winter days. Winter always last longer than summer.

Getting audited can be overwhelming as well as extremely stressful. Avoid the stress: make sure you only claim legitimate deductions and always have your accounting in proper order. Right down to proper filing of your records so you can find all the right receipts if and when you are audited.

Starting a business, then make sure you know all the things necessary for startup. For instance: What taxes do I need to charge, do I need more than one business licence (if you do business in a city other than where you live you also need a licence for those cities) which is the best fiscal year end and so on. Get all the facts before you start. Many people make this mistake and end up behind on the accounting end as well as paying unnecessary fines because they didn't research all the facts.

For anyone thinking of starting a business, my advice is talk to someone in accounting before you get started. Many people make this mistake. They start a business and forget about the accounting end of the business. This gets you into trouble and in some cases can kill your dream business by making too many errors regarding your accounting. So don't make that mistake. Make the call and ask what you need to do.

Today is a beautiful sunny day. Hope everyone enjoys the sunshine and leaves the stress behind. Life is to be lived, and problems can wait until tomorrow once and awhile.

Someone recently referred to me as the fixer. Thank You for the compliment. I know that I can't fix everyone's problems, but I do whatever I can, as well as recommending you to someone else if your problem is beyond my scope. I try not to leave you hanging. Stress affects everyone and the cause is always caused by different things. So for those of you that get stressed by taxes and accounting issues, you can talk to me and maybe I can show you the light at the end of the tunnel. It may be a long tunnel but there are always to fix problems. No different than getting your car fixed. Find someone who likes to do what they enjoy and you will always get the best fix.

Hello everyone it's a good day in all aspects. Tax season is over for most people but and there is always a but, for those of you who are stragglers. So may it a good day for you and deal with the taxes because once you get that out of the way life becomes even better days.

Last day of tax season. Don't panic I'm here all year

We are nearing the end of April, therefore if you think you owe on your taxes this year, don't procrastinate. Even if you have a refund, get it filed, why let CRA earn the interest on your money.

What is old age going to look like? Don't wait until you get there to start figuring it out. Start out small, invest in your own future. If you don't look out for you, who will. If all you have to save is a couple of dollars every week, it is better than no savings at all. You may only be in your twenties but one day you WILL have to retire. Anything you do for that future will be a help so what are you waiting for.

Procrastinating? Dont worry, theres still time to file your return. Then you can do your happy dance and whatever else you like with your refund.

This post is aimed at the procrastinators, and you all know who you are: It's time you dug out your info slips and file those long past due tax returns. You may be surprised at the outcome. You may actually have a refund and not owe. Only one way to find out! File that return. I'm waiting to hear from you.

Good morning! The sun is shining, you're feeling great, how about finding out you have a nice tax refund coming. Tax refunds always make me feel great even when they are someone else's refund.

Countless times I have heard people say that RRSP'S are a waste of time. I disagree. Say you invested $500 per year from age 20 to age 65. It doesn't sound like much, just a few less meals or coffee's out. ($9.62 a week to save), now after 45 years at 2% interest equals $31,589.05. Not to shabby for a minimal savings. Now you get the idea, can you visualize how much you will have if you start to increase the amount as you age and make more money. PLUS think of all the tax dol...lars you will save. In the lowest tax bracket which is $46,605 this year, with $500 RRSP you will save an average of $100 - $113 depending on where your income falls in this bracket. That is now in addition to all the interest you are earning on your RRSP. What you get back in tax is now $90 - $100 more than you earn each year on your current year RRSP of $500 investment. Don't have your T4's yet, no problem we can use the last pay stub from 2018 as most pay stubs have your year to date income and deductions. Revenue Canada will begin accepting efile returns as of February 18th, so if you like to be an early bird get those slips in and we will make it happen.
