Prior to being elected as NATCA EVP, Gilbert worked 21 years as an #AirTraffic Controller (ATC) at Houston Center and served in many activist roles within the union including Facility Representative, Southwest Region Chair of NATCA’s National Legislative Committee and Chair of the National Legislative Committee. She also chaired NATCA’s National Organizing Committee served as #NATCA Charitable Foundation Vice President and then, the Foundation’s President.

These issues include #gender #diversity, #Indigenous workforce requirements, labour shortages, and industry recovery from the devastating COVID-19 #pandemic. Together we will conduct research and analysis of the labour market and prepare for future employment opportunities to meet each organization’s recruitment goals w...ith a particular focus on diversity. Elevate Aviation will work with project partners to develop a #COVID19 workforce recovery action plan to implement in the aviation industry. Our partners represent virtually every aspect of the aviation, aerospace and airport business in Alberta, as well as representatives from Indigenous groups and training centres. This project is funded by the Province of #Alberta’s Labour Market Partnerships program.
