We are Officially Open! (with precautions in place, read for more details) Yesterday the Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH) updated the directives that mandated we close 2.5 months ago to allow us to return to non-essential care. ... At this time, the CHIROPRACTIC and PHYSIOTHERAPY governing bodies have allowed members to begin opening their practices! We are still waiting for word on MASSAGE THERAPY and will post an update when this is available - hopefully very soon. We have been preparing over the past month for this day, and have the following policies in place for a safe return: 10 minutes between every appointment to allow for room sanitation and decreased clinic traffic Physical distancing while in the office between patients Plexiglass barrier at reception Hand hygiene stations Practitioner PPE Sanitation policies between each patient contact both in the treatment rooms, and the reception BOOKING APPOINTMENTS: Starting tomorrow (May 28th, 2020) we will begin calling everyone who had an appointment previously scheduled. Please bear with us as we go through this process, our phone lines may be busy, but if you leave a message when calling we will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Online Booking will be opening up again in the next few days, we will post an update when this is available. Clinic Closure: After careful consideration of the current public health crisis we are all facing and recommendations from the Ministry of Health, we feel that it is prudent to do our part to mitigate the risk to our staff, patients, and community at large by closing our office until further notice. These are certainly tough times for local businesses, but social distancing and other measures are necessary to protect the health of our family, friends, and communities. We will... be closely monitoring recommendations from local Public Health Authorities and will re-open as soon as we can. If you have an appointment booked, someone will be in contact with you to reschedule. Thank you for your patience, and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Should you require urgent care, please call the clinic and leave a voicemail and someone will get back to you immediately. These instances will be considered for treatment on a case-by-case basis to help reduce the burden on the emergency rooms and family doctors for musculoskeletal injuries. Introducing VIRTUAL CARE While our office remains OPEN at the present time, this may quickly change in the coming hours/days. We want to ensure that we can provide the care you may need in the event we are required to close our doors for an extended period of time. As you know, much of what we do as Physiotherapists and Chiropractors is home exercise and education/recommendation based. While there is no doubting the benefits of hands-on manual therapy, the roadmap to recovery... and sustainable results always includes performing a specific prescribed home program. As such, during times when it is not feasible to attend appointments in person, we want to encourage our patients to consider virtual appointments from home as a means to not disrupt your progress as you heal and get better. These appointments will be 30 minutes in length for follow-ups, and 1 hour for new assessments, and may include assessment of your condition through movement analysis, recommendations on self-care strategies, exercise prescription, exercise demonstration, and even full exercise supervision. In light of recent events regarding COVID-19, we want to let our patients know that their health and safety is of our utmost concern and as such we have been closely monitoring recommendations laid out by Health Canada, The World Health Organization (WHO), and Lambton Public Health. If you are experiencing any symptoms such as FEVER, COUGH, or SHORTNESS OF BREATH, we urge you to reschedule your appointment until you are symptom free, and reassure you that cancelled or resched...uled sessions will incur no penalty or fee. Health agencies are also recommending that any travel outside of Canada be followed by a 14-day self quarantine to minimize potential spread of the virus, particularly to help protect those most at risk. Remember to practice good hygiene by washing hands thoroughly, avoiding touching your face, cough or sneeze into your upper arm not your hands, and sanitize frequently. Here at the clinic, we use a variety of hygiene and sanitation practices including complete sanitation of all treatment beds and instruments between EACH patient, using hand sanitizer before and after every patient contact, ensuring that all linens are single-use, and sanitizing frequently contacted areas including door handles, chairs, tables, and gym equipment. Hand sanitizer is available to all patients and staff both at reception and at the treatment room entrances.
