Here are some photos of the cut outs I made from this class. Each assignment had a time limitation from 1-2 minutes to 4 or 5minutes being the longest length of time to complete the cut out.

I participated in this online art class in August it was fun and challenging at the same time. I have always admired and have been inspired by Matisse. I had learned when I studued art at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in the 80's; that Matisse had used scissors to draw, cutting out shapes of coloured paper that he had painted, to compose designs for large painitings. He did this late in his life when he was restricted to a wheelchair, as well as using asssistants to create his large art works. I highly recommend this class and technique for approaching painting in a new format.

I had a great time last weekend in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia participating in an Encaustic painting workshop for two days. There were four other artists as well as me doing the workshop at ArtLab. It's a great resource for the province of Nova Scotia. I painted 6 panels. I'll post some images tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Hello Everyone, hope you are all having a great summer! Our season is so short here in Nova Scotia, we need to enjoy every second of it. Since Covid I have been doing some collages of different ideas and concerns that have been weighing on my mind for some time now; some prior to this pandemic and a few inspired by these strange times. Here are a few of the collages I have done since March. I am presently working on another 7 collages, 6 are the similar size as these images 12 inches x 12 inches and one is a horizontal canvas. I will post them once they are completed.
